Our fresh produce is seasonal and available during the harvest season. Freshly harvested table grapes from Schoonbee Landgoed will be available from early November. We harvest 19 different cultivars of red, white and black table grapes over a period of three to four months and as these unique varieties are only available for limited time windows, they are available for purchase as each comes into season.

The volume of air differs at different temperatures and altitudes. The juice is bottled at 920m above sea level at 5°C. The volume of the air at the top of the juice will therefore change if one or both of these variables change. This may impact the shape of the bottle slightly.  This is called “paneling”.

As soon as you open the bottle, the differences will equalise and the shape will be perfect! Just remember that as soon as you open the bottle, the impact of the HPP process (described above in point 3) stops so you need to use the juice within 8 days of opening. But once you open it to experience the taste and quality – you will definitely not wait 8 days to consume the rest!

Schoonbee Landgoed’s juice is 100% pure citrus with no added water, colourants, flavourings, preservatives, or additional fruit juice such as grape or apple. These juices are not blended with other citrus juice to achieve a consistent taste. As a result, each bottle tastes unique depending on the specific orange, mandarin or lemon cultivar that was used for squeezing. We do not heat our juices and they are 100% cold pressed.

Citrus fruits from the Loskop Valley become ready for harvesting over a period of six months. The Schoonbee Landgoed basket of citrus fruit contains various exciting varieties of lemons, mandarins and oranges. Over the course of the citrus harvesting season, the relevant fruit is carefully selected from our citrus orchards at their peak during the season, from where the fruits are then cold pressed and bottled on the farm to capture its pure, delicious flavour in a bottle.

Delivering the best quality products to our customers is our top priority. To ensure that our pure juices are food safe, high-pressure processing (HPP) is applied within 24 hours of pressing the juice to retain all the fresh goodness. HPP is a heatless preservation method that significantly extends the shelf life of refrigerated fresh juices. Using HPP, already packaged fresh juices are submerged in pressurised cold water. The extreme pressure that is applied in the water chamber deactivates harmful bacteria resulting in a product that is completely food safe. [CvZ1] HPP does not damage active enzymes and nutritional contents, giving you the best of both worlds: a healthy juice with extended shelf life.

The applied pressure of 6,000 bar is six times the pressure at the bottom of the deepest place in the ocean called the Mariana Trench.

This innovative technology retains all the taste, colour, and nutritional value of freshly squeezed juice while extending the shelf life up to 90 days when chilled at below five degrees Celsius. HPP Fresh Juices are never heated, and no preservatives are added – making it best in class for fresh, ready to drink juice with extended shelf life.

Utilise the juices within five days of opening, since the HPP preservation is only effective while the bottle is sealed.

All our juice bottles are BPA-free, which means that it does not use the organic compound called Bisphenol A in its construction. The bottle and cap used is also fully recyclable.

There are many benefits of consuming pure, fresh lemon juice daily. While our pure lemon juice is also produced with no added sugar, preservatives, colourants, flavouring, water or any additional fruit juice, it is not intended to quench your thirst as is. We recommend diluting the pure juice with water to make lemonade or use as is in small quantities for cooking. Or enjoy our lemon juice by adding a dash to your cup of tea or favourite cocktail. Our pure lemon juice is also ideal for cooking or your favourite braai.

Most other commercial lemon juice available contains preservatives and is diluted in different ways. Therefore, the taste difference and nutrient profile is significant.
