Schoonbee Landgoed is a picturesque fruit producing farm in Groblersdal, nestled in the heart of the flourishing Loskop Valley in Limpopo. The renowned farm produces a wide variety of citrus and premium varieties of table grape on approximately 3000 hectares of land. The farm celebrates 48 years of offering unparalleled quality produce to its global customer base this year.
Schoonbee Landgoed’s journey with Pick ‘n Pay began in 2016 when they decided to pursue a direct grape program with South Africa’s favourite supermarket. This endeavour has grown into a wonderful relationship and involves a wide variety of produce grown for the Pick ‘n Pay team. Schoonbee’s team is determined to ensure that the freshest, tastiest and most exceptional quality produce are produced and delivered straight from the farm. This ‘farm to table’ aspiration can only be achieved continuously through superior machinery, new technology and perfect management executed at each level. Schoonbee Landgoed has earned its reputation over the last years due to its unwavering commitment and passion to satisfy their valued consumers’ needs and expectations. It excels in the critical areas of quality assurance, food safety, traceability, environmental responsibility and social accountability. They believe in primary agriculture with the knowledge that they form part of a larger community, province and country that contributes to people’s lives. However, a standout performer has been Schoonbee Landgoed. During the last financial year, they have grown their account by 167% and currently on track for another stellar year at 212% year to date growth in to Pick n Pay. The core business is an array of citrus varieties as well as table grape cultivars. Schoonbee Landgoed has a culture which fosters a holistic approach that encompasses doing good & uncompromising ethical business with those that they work with. Combined with the outstanding quality of product supplied in to Pick n Pay, was the building and operating of a dedicated 7 day a week staging facility. Future plans include, expanding their product offer to Pick n Pay, which will include additional fruit and vegetable crops.
